So i navigated down to the Most Popular section of the paper. It enlists all the things that have been mailed blogged and searched more. And look what i found. Apparently people search more for “gay” than they do for Iraq, Israel, and Lieberman. I mean I understand why people would be more interested in China and India than Lieberman, but gay ??!! thats just salt on injury.Way to go Lieberman.

So, i installed the meebo wiget. spent some time taking to myself from meebo and wordpress. LOL. got to love the instant gratification that this wiget provides of letting u talk to your readers. [which BTW was me for the first few hours:-P]. anyway, then Seth, one of the minions from meebo came over and we had a really long and nice talk about meebo and stuff. I wont have been happier if Meg Ryan had dropped by my blog. I offered my $0.02 worth and he already knew b4 hand what i was gonna say. For a guy who is so busy, he sure was a good listener and good person to talk to. Skeptical……… wait I got proof

This is great. now you can talk to me when u visit me here.look to the right and u will see the Meebo messenger wiget for WordPress. got to love what the minions at meebo have done to bring people together. No need of installing 100 messangers on your comp to keep in touch with your friends. Just type in yr login data and u are in.And now u can talk in real time to any blogger. As i said …… got to love it. There are a few bugs. But again u have to consider thats its still in Alpha. Alpha, not even Beta. Meebo+Firefox+Wordpress=total coolness

And of course you can always leave me an comment singing praises to my blogging skills and infinite wisdom and power to make a difference to make a difference in the world and my overall super sub-zero coolness. Did I say I was a megalomaniac?

Enter the mighty linux

The way to peoples living room is through huge billboards on highways and busy traffic junctions. You got to know about a product to use it. And there comes in advertisement. take for example Firefox. 85% people using the windows dont know what a browser is. The rest use Firefox. ok mayb not 85% but u get the idea about what i am saying. Mozilla ate into Microsuxs browser market share trough aggressive advertisement and percolating Firefox socially. recently a save a friend campaign was launched, where Firefox converts were could asked to “save” just aother friend of their by letting them know of firefox.[forgive the religious undertone of the statement. Asa is already taking a lot of flak for it ]

The point is you have to percolate to subconscious before casual users turn their lazy heads towards you. And Ubuntu is doing a terrific job at letting people know Computer!=Windoz! Once that soccor-mom-use-computers-to-visit-AOL-walled-garden starts asking the question “whats that smart little billboard is about?” u can rest assured things will start changing on the desktop computing. Why am i ranting about it here? well i got a selfish reason. as more people start using linux, more software vendors will start making Linux ports of my favorite software. [This is not to say that i cant find most standard software on linux that are available for windows, but theres always that obscure piece of software that makes u come back to windoz. AutoCAD is that for me]. So more linux users the better for me. Long live Ubuntu

P.S. : got to love the open source people. very witty. Even error statements on linux will make you fall on the floor laughing

Me and the Israel Lebanon crisis

Ok, bear with me, for i am all set to gloat. This summer I had the opportunity to work for the Indian Navy. We were supposed to prepare some documents that would facilitate the passage of Indian Naval Vessels of the Brahmaputra Class through the Suez and Panama canal. It was tedious work and everything being classified was a pain in the u-know-where, because everytime u needed some data, u had to go ask for it to someone who worked faster than a snail but slower than a tortoise. Anyway, we completed the project well within time and got it approved by the appropriate authorities. then a few days back i read [Link] that INS Brahmaputra and INS Betwa had been mobilized for rescue missions in Lebanon. So kudos to me for having worked on that. I feel like I had a role to play in saving some Indian lives. Call that wishful thinking, but the swelling in my chest is definitely pride.

This is hilarious. A tad sleazy, but hilarious all-the-same. Yahoo! has launched a ad campaign that may border on obscenity for some, but definitely a sure-fire way to get the eye balls. But hey, thats what marketing is all about right! getting as many balls as possible  .  Got only two of the ads for now. havnt found more yet, but i am sure they are out there. If u find anymore of the kind take a screenshot and fire me a mail. I will surly post them with credits to you. Let your imaginations go wild on thee for now.
